Chocolate Vine 'Rosea' | Flowering Vine

Akebia quinata is a hardy vine often called Chocolate Vine, Raisin Vine, or Five-leaf Akebia. The flowers, which typically appear mid-late Spring, are purplish-pink and have a chocolate scent. The foliage is dark green and oval, in clusters of five leaves. 

This vine is a vigorous grower, easily adding several meters of growth in a season under the right conditions. Great for ground cover or upright growth if provided sturdy support. Regular pruning throughout the growing season is recommended to maintain this fast grower. For Winter, the vine can be pruned back to just a few inches above the ground, the vine will regrow in Spring.
